At the 2025 (10th) New Energy Industry Expo - New Energy PV ESS Forum hosted by SMM Information & Technology Co., Ltd. (SMM), Liangjun Ma, Director of the Jiangsu Region of the Industrial and Commercial Sales Department of Xi'an JD Energy Co., Ltd., shared insights on the topic of "Distributed ESS Solutions for Industrial and Commercial Owners and Investors." Exploration of Industrial and Commercial ESS Solutions and Applications

Market Analysis

Fundamental Measures for Low-Carbon Development

Three Key Aspects of Low-Carbon Development

First Aspect: End-User Electrification

Coal to electricity; oil to electricity; gas to electricity; electricity is the cleanest and easiest to convert.

Second Aspect: Low-Carbon Power Generation

Increase the proportion of power generation from clean energy sources such as wind, solar, and hydro, reduce the proportion of thermal power generation, and even replace thermal power generation.

Third Aspect: Power Intelligence

Smart grid, smart ESS, and smart energy storage.

Wind and solar power are low-cost, but their temporal and spatial mismatch necessitates energy storage.

The 14th Five-Year Plan: By 2025, 20% of vehicles will be new energy, which has already been exceeded, reaching 30%. One-fifth of power generation.

The business model for industrial and commercial ESS is already clear.

Demand Management - Effectively Reducing Basic Electricity Fees

Reducing End-User Demand Charges

The two-part tariff consists of basic electricity fees and energy charges. The basic electricity fee is calculated as the basic rate multiplied by the billing capacity; the energy charge is calculated as the energy rate multiplied by the electricity consumption.

After installing an ESS in an industrial and commercial park that implements the two-part tariff, the real-time power of the user's transformer can be monitored. When the real-time power exceeds the maximum demand, the ESS automatically discharges to monitor the real-time power, reducing the transformer's output and ensuring that the transformer's power does not exceed the limit, thereby reducing the end-user demand charges and lowering the electricity costs for the industrial and commercial park.

Virtual Power Plant - Integrating Resources, Unified Dispatch

The industrial and commercial ESS market has enormous potential.
